Albert Fraenkel

(June 3, 1864 in Mussbach an der Weinstr aĂźe, died. December 22, 1938 in Heidelberg) - German physician. As a first pointed to Streptococcus pneumoniae as a cause of bact erial pneumonia and ouabainÄ™ recommended in the treatment of hea rt failure. Fraenkel Prize Albert (Albert Fraenkel Plakette) granted to the German cardiologists in recognition of his contribution in this field. He was born in 1864 in Mussbach an der WeinstraĂźe as the son of a Jewish dealer. He studied medicine in Munich and Strasbourg.
